// tips for vCard QR codes
A vCard QR encodes your details in the standard contact format phones understand. Scanning it pops up an "Add to Contacts" prompt: no typing, no app.
- Keep it lean. The more fields you add, the denser the QR and the harder it is to scan at small print sizes or from a distance. Name, phone, and email cover most cases.
- Test before you print. Scan it with the actual phone you expect your audience to use; both iOS and Android read vCards natively.
- Higher error correction (Q or H) helps if you overlay a logo or print on a textured surface, at the cost of a denser code.
Privacy: your details are turned into a vCard string and encoded to a QR locally. Nothing is sent to a server; view-source to confirm.
