// how scanning works on phones
- iPhone (iOS 11+): open the Camera app, point at the QR. A banner appears: tap "Join Network".
- Android: most modern Androids recognize WiFi QRs through the camera or Google Lens. Samsung phones have a dedicated WiFi QR scanner in Bixby Vision.
- Printed cards: print at 1.5" × 1.5" or larger for reliable scanning from arm's length.
Need just the raw string format (for NFC tags or password managers)? Use the WiFi NFC String Generator instead.
Privacy: your password is encoded into the QR locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Related: for arbitrary text or URLs (not WiFi), use the general QR Code Generator.
